Activities of Daily Living

Ambassador Rehab is committed to delivering exemplary rehabilitation services to all our clients. Each rehab program is specifically tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient.

Outcomes for daily living activities are systematically measured for each task (listed on the graph) to ensure that patients are successfully progressing towards their goals. By analyzing the rate of improvement with functional transfers and basic daily bathing/dressing needs, our therapists are able to more accurately identify the specific needs that each patient will have upon discharge from rehabilitation services.

Ambulation

Independence with functional mobility is often not only a basic need, but is also considered a necessity to ensure a higher quality of life, for most of our patients. That is why we have tailored an outcome study to specifically address ambulation ability with our treatment interventions.

We specifically address ambulation distance, based upon an MDS related scale, to identify the range of safe ambulation for each patient. Whether the patient plans to return home or will need to make one of our facilities their new home, the therapy department will be able to use this clinical study to determine their ability for safe walking distances.

Swallowing / Cognitive

Speech Therapy services are crucial to ensure the health and well-being of all our patients. These therapists help to assess if a cognitive deficit or swallowing impairment will place the patient at risk for further medical complications. Furthermore, our highly trained Speech-Language Pathologists possess the skills necessary to rehabilitate these patients so that their quality of life is not negatively impacted.

Patients who receive Speech Therapy at one of our facilities are assessed utilizing a scale specific to this discipline. By assigning a severity rating to the areas of swallowing, comprehension, and expression, we can concretely ascertain the rate of improvement for each patient we treat. We want to ensure that the patient is able to communicate their basic wants and needs to the staff, family members,
